An FDNY fire truck was involved in a crash that left a trail of destruction through East Harlem on Thanksgiving night – including a passenger vehicle smashed up, a row of Citi Bikes on the sidewalk plowed over and one civilian hospitalized.
The crash involving a truck from Ladder 43 happened around 8:45 p.m. near 112th Street and Third Avenue, the FDNY said.
Photos from the scene showed a white minivan smashed up against another vehicle that appeared to be parked.
The images also showed a row of damaged Citi bikes on the ground and the fire truck stopped in the courtyard outside an apartment complex after appearing to plow through part of a black fence on the sidewalk.
The FDNY said one civilian was taken to Harlem Hospital. Their condition was not immediately known.
More information about the crash, including the circumstances leading up to it, was not immediately available late Thursday night.
The FDNY said the incident is under investigation.
