Ella Emhoff insists she is not having a mental breakdown

Vice President Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff publicly reassured fans that she was not having a mental breakdown Saturday, after rumors swirled she had been checked into an institution after being devastated by the results of the presidential election.

“There’s a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true. Also f–k you if you’re out there spreading that. There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry,” Emhoff said in an Instagram post.

“I’ve struggled with my mental health my whole life and I’m not ashamed of it,” she added, noting all she had done since Election Day was play fetch with her dog Jerry.Ella Emhoff, daughter of US Second Gentleman Doug Emhooff, exiting Howard University in Washington, DC, after Kamala Harris' concession in the 2024 presidential election.

The almost first stepdaughter was seen ugly crying at Vice President Harris’ Wednesday concession speech at Howard University. President-elect Trump trounced Emhoff’s momala by roughly 4 million votes.

“I know we are all feeling a lot of emotions right now. That’s normal, and it would be weird if we weren’t. I know I’ve gone through about 10 cycles of sadness, rage, and stress – and that was just this morning,” Ella Emhoff whined on her Substack.

In the past she has caused controversey for promoting a fundraiser for Palestinian “humanitarian” aid.

One appeal she plugged was for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, an aid organization which was cut off from funds by the Biden administration over their involvement in the Oct 7 massacre. Israel has since banned them from operating in the country.

Though her father is Jewish, the younger Emhoff has publicly said she does not identify with the faith.
